How I Shift My State When I’m Spiraling

When life feels like too much, here’s exactly how I recalibrate my energy, reclaim my power, and rise again—fast.

Let’s be real: even the most vibrant, high-vibe, mermaid-hearted 10Xpreneurs hit their breaking point.

There are days when I feel like I’m drowning in to-dos, client calls, tech hiccups, mum life, and the weight of trying to hold it all together. And when that tidal wave hits—it spirals fast.

But here’s the thing I’ve learned (and had to re-learn many times):

You can’t control the wave, but you can choose how you ride it.

So today, I’m peeling back the curtain and sharing exactly how I shift my state when I’m spiraling.

1. I STOP. I BREATHE. I FEEL.

I used to try to push through the overwhelm with coffee, hustle, and fake positivity.

Now? I pause.

I get still.

I close my eyes, place a hand on my heart, and take three deep belly breaths.

And I let myself FEEL. The frustration. The fear. The fatigue. All of it.

Because ignoring it never works. But honouring it? That’s where the healing starts.

2. I MOVE MY BODY.

If I stay frozen in stress, the spiral continues. So I move.

Sometimes that’s walking barefoot in the garden.
Sometimes it’s dancing like a wild woman in the kitchen.
Sometimes it’s stretching on my deck while the ocean breeze kisses my cheeks.

Movement resets my nervous system and gets me out of my head and back into my power.

3. I CHANGE MY ENVIRONMENT.

When I feel like I’m spiraling, I physically shift spaces.

I grab my journal and go sit under a tree.
I light a candle, clean my desk, or dive into the ocean if I can.

Environment is everything.
Your surroundings can lift you—or drown you.

So I choose spaces that feel safe, grounded, and inspired.

4. I ASK BETTER QUESTIONS.

Instead of spiraling with “Why is everything so hard?”
I ask:
🌱 What is this moment trying to teach me?
🌱 What’s ONE thing I can do right now to feel better?
🌱 Who can support me?

Better questions = better energy.

5. I RECONNECT TO MY WHY.

When everything feels heavy, I remind myself who I am.

💖 I’m a mermaid on a mission.
💖 A mama building a legacy.
💖 A leader for other women who feel lost in their own spiral.

And when I reconnect to that, the spiral starts to lose its power.
